YOUR BEST PERFORMING GROOMING PRODUCTS SHOULD BE A FORCE OF NATURE AND A CHANGE FOR GOOD.
We are all trying to navigate through what is being termed the ‘new normal’, confined to our homes 24/7, with our daily commute being a short bare foot shuffle from bedroom to kitchen table. Yet we can all take a bit of comfort (and sense of sanity) by holding onto some familiar daily routines, not least our own personal hygiene. It’s never been so news worthy, from washing our hands regularly to having your morning shower, even if it is only to get back into your PJ’s. Here we spotlight three socially conscious brands that have been disrupting the skincare market with tellingly effective products, each with mother nature at its heart.
The Good Wash Company not only delivers an excellent set of cruelty free and Vegan friendly grooming products, it does so with a real social and environmental conscious. Mandy Powell, an ex Welsh International Hockey and Touch Rugby Player, co founded the socially conscious enterprise along with Kelly Davies only two years ago, having previously worked as UK Business and Marketing manager within a pharmaceutical corporation. Finding a more holistic approach to her work led to the realisation of the Good Wash Company, a range of products packed with organic essential oils, based on ancient natural remedies. Take a moment to scroll across their website and it’s easy to see this is a business with real heart, a determination to give back and make a change by improving the lives of both people and animals. We all have a sense of wanting to give back right now and this socially aware brand based in Barri, South Wales lets you become part of their journey and story. With each purchase of their products, profits help to give opportunities back to those most vulnerable within our communities.
I’ve been a fan of the brand for a while, having met Mandy on a number of occasions living locally in South Wales, she is testament to the brands dedication in raising awareness of the importance of social and environmental issues. Even during these most challenging times, especially for small businesses, they continue the good work and wash mission by donating wash products to food banks, supporting local communities and emergency workers.
Luxury Hand Wash.
While none of us thought washing our hands regularly would become a government directive, it’s still regarded as the best and most efficient way to protect yourself against the current pandemic, so while indulging ourselves in luxuries such as eating out or having a professional hair cut have been side lined for now, treating yourself to a good smelling hand wash seems totally justifiable, essential even. There are many benefits from this delicious smelling liquid, not least the number of oils packed into its easy to use pump dispenser bottle (made from recycled plastic), the Argan oil is high in vitamin E which helps anti ageing and is easy to absorb into the skin, while the Almond oil is a good source of Vitamin A, is mild and hypoallergenic and reduces inflammation - a natural remedy for eczema and psoriasis. The Lavender oil helps speed up the process of cuts and burns and is good for improving circulation of the blood in the body, as well as promoting a feeling of well being, relieving tension headaches and emotional stress. Something we are all probably experiencing in various degrees right now.

The Natural Body Wash
This packs a punch of uplifting essential oils. Use this every morning to keep your skin hydrated with its Aloe Vera, while the Rose Geranium oil will not only lift your mood into a more positive place, it has excellent anti bacterial, anti fungal, antiseptic properties. I’ve been a fan of this mood enhancing body wash for a while. Both my mind and body feel prepared to take on the day after using either the Sports or Body Wash each morning. All of the TGW company products are made in Wales from natural ingredients are cruelty free and vegan accredited.
