N.PEAL GOES COMMANDO IN NO TIME TO DIE

This British cashmere brand has form when it comes to dressing Ian Fleming’s protagonist James Bond, a strong bond (sorry) that continues in the next 007 next chapter, No Time To Die. The heritage knitwear company founded in 1936, developed this British Army Commando sweater with costume designer Suttirat Anne Larlarb. ‘We wanted to give Bond a unique look in the final scenes of the film,’ comments Larlarb.

N.Peal previously worked with the Bond filmmakers on Skyfall and Spectre providing Daniel Craig’s character with a blue wave round neck sweater, a superfine cashmere Turtleneck and a light grey roll neck.

Working with detailed photographs of authentic commando sweaters and several extant vintage pieces, N.Peal maintained the military likeness with the ribbing and the canvas patches on the shoulders, elbows and cuffs. The wider drawstring neck detail is consistent with maritime clothing design, and makes reference to Bond’s close ties with the Royal Navy.

‘The piece had to be action ready. It needed to have a strong silhouette, something that harkened to his military past and which also had a timeless quality to it as well,’ adds Larlarb. The navy sweater is available in a blend of 90% superfine Merino wool and 10% cashmere and is available exclusively from N.Peal. Given the film’s release date has been pushed back to the autumn of this year, there is no time like now to get ahead of the game with this fine piece of knitwear, ready to hunker down for those chilly autumn days.
