Need A Traditional Turkish Barber Treat? Make ADAM Your New Grooming At Home Routine

Amongst the many the things we took for granted pre pandemic was the simple act of getting your haircut. Unless you were fortunate to live with a professional barber, we all had to suffer the ‘at home trim’ at some point over lockdown. I realised how much I missed the ritual of my monthly visit to the barbers, not least for the restorative head space you leave with, both physically and mentally. Few know more about the importance of what a visit to a traditional Turkish barber can offer than ADAM.

Since its inception in 2016, the award-winning barbers have created eight uniquely designed spaces in London, where men can go to escape, replenish and emerge feeling nurtured and groomed. ADAM’s founders Esat College and Oytun Pakcan didn’t open the business with a wealth of barbering experience, although their background in finance was probably good for the spreadsheets. It was their collective experience of growing up with the grooming rituals that a traditional barbershop offered, where they saw an opportunity. Offering a range of services from the hot towel wet shave to beard shaping and trimming as well as the hot towel press head and neck massage, this is much more than a quick short back and sides set up. Its most evident in the barbers they employ, many of whom  originate from the Anatolia region in Turkey, who embody the practical techniques that result in a superb haircut, delivered with a time-honoured attitude to service. A traditional Turkish barber can take years to learn their craft and so its with a sense of pride ADAM ateliers know they are giving these crafts people the very best platform to demonstrate their expertise.

Barbering services are still suffering from a stuttered open close timetable, thanks to the current tier system. So while you wait to book in all of your 2021 appointments at one of ADAM’s ateliers, you can now enjoy a range of their in-house developed grooming products from the comfort of your own home. Sourced from the finest organic ingredients and natural planet extracts from the Anatolia and Aegean region, the products are packed with powerful essential oils such as wild pine, cedar wood and rosemary. Not just selected for their uplifting botanical aroma but for their natural cosmetic and dermatological benefits, helping soothe the skin with their anti-ageing and anti inflammatory properties.

Highlights (no pun intended), include the Matte Clay pot giving you a perfect dry matte finish and infused with juniper berry essential oils and cedar wood and the Strengthening Shampoo feels like a good work out for the hair, with its anti microbial pine and myrtle infusions, together with a good dose of Vitamin E leaving hair well hydrated. A Beard Oil rich in grape and sunflower seed oil nourishes and conditions the facial hair, keeping those wayward hairs in check, while a personal favourite is the Daily Charcoal face wash. Deep cleansing the skins pores with a blend of botanical enriched eucalyptus oil and rosemary - a good natural antioxidant.

All ADAM’s products appear in recyclable clear glass bottles with paper labels and are certified organic, vegan, cruelty free and are sustainably sourced. A grooming range that will leave you looking and smelling good in equally measure. Prices start from £20.
